FLOATING POOL IN THE PANCCHEREVO LAKE TO BE INSTALLED!
Pancherevo Lake is the only and the nearest water basin near Sofia. It is not well accomodated for public. The eager for water in summer days explains why my speculative announce for this pool has achieved more than 350 000 people and was the one of the most beloved idea.
THE RESTAURANT AT THE TV TOWER IS REOPENING!
This TV tower is one of the most recognizable landmarks on Sofia's skyline. Built in the 1980s, it has never had a sky restaurant. Since this fact is barely known, my speculative "reopening" announcement sparked many surprised reactions—but also a great deal of love.
THEY'RE BUILDING A PARK OVER TSARIGRADSKO SHOSE!
Tsarigradsko Shose is Sofia's main boulevard to the city centre. As a high-speed urban highway, it divides the surrounding neighbourhoods. Although underground pedestrian tunnels connect both sides, they are few, far apart, and poorly maintained.
The proposal creates a public space above the highway, linking a dense residential district with a major shopping mall, offices, and a park on the opposite side, transforming a barrier into a place for people.
The many laughing reactions reflect the public's scepticism toward bold, large-scale civic projects with transformative ambitions.
THE WINNING DESIGN OF THE INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION
The Monument to the Soviet Army has been partially dismantled and is currently awaiting a court decision on its future. The issue has remained unresolved for decades, continuing to divide Bulgarian society.
The proposal to replace it with a green observation tower went viral and sparked widespread public debate. I was surprised by the overwhelmingly positive response, with thousands of supportive comments and very few negative reactions.
THE NATIONAL STADIUM IS BEING MOVED!
The National Stadium in Sofia tends to paralyze the city center whenever large events are held, while noise and loud music frequently disturb local residents.
The proposal explores the idea of relocating the stadium next to Sofia Airport. The public discussion it generated—covering issues such as metro connectivity, road capacity, and airport infrastructure—reached an almost professional level of depth and engagement. Once again, the response was overwhelmingly positive, with very few negative reactions.
The Northern Gate project has officially been unveiled!
I deliberately speculated with this visual by SOM for a project in Hangzhou, imagining it built over Sofia’s Central Railway Station.
For many years, the area around the Central Railway Station has been expected to develop as the “Gateway to the Northern City.” The revitalization of this zone is a long-standing urban dream that is still waiting for its moment—like many similar areas around the world.
There were no dislikes. Just a lot of smiles.
